POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, THERAPEUTIC NUCLEIC ACID DELIVERYBiological Engineering, to lead cutting-edge research into the formulation and in vivo application of therapeutic nucleic acids for cancer and gene therapies in the Laboratory of Professor Mark Bathe ( A major bottleneck to all of cancer and gene therapeutics is the targeted in vivo delivery of therapeutic nucleic acids including siRNAs, mRNA, ASOs, and CRISPR ribonucleoproteins. The Bathe lab is developing structured nucleic acid nanoparticles for this purpose, functionalized with targeting ligands ranging from peptides to lipids and sugars. Responsibilities will include working as part of collaborative interdisciplinary teams at MIT, the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard, and Harvard Medical School to design, synthesize, and evaluate novel gene therapeutics using a range of in vivo and in vitro models.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field; expertise in molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture and transfection, qRT-PCR, and RNA-seq; strong interpersonal, communication, and scientific skills; and a strong publication record. Experience with in vivo delivery of therapeutic nucleic acids using LNPs, AAV, or other vector, plus downstream quantitative analysis of therapeutic efficacy using genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic tools is highly desirable. Seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented postdoc who is biomedically and translationally focused and has a strong desire to translate novel gene therapeutic formulations to the clinic. Job #18139
