Working at MIT offers opportunities, an environment, a culture – and benefits – that just aren’t found together anywhere else. If you’re curious, motivated, want to be part of a unique community, and help shape the future – then take a look at this opportunity.

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Laboratory for Nuclear Science and Engineering-Experimental High Energy Physics Group, to work on the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) experiment.  Will join a group that has taken a leading role in the discovery of the Higgs bosons at 125 GeV and presently focuses on searching for dark matter and learning more about Higgs physics.  Will play a major role in this analysis effort.

The MIT group is involved in several detector projects such as the data acquisition, Hadron Calorimeter (HCAL), new high granularity calorimeter (HGCAL), computing projects, and the Level-1 Trigger upgrade.  MIT operates a Tier-2 computer center, providing resources for data analysis both locally and as part of the CMS computing grid. This position is targeted for a person taking major responsibility in the Level-1 Trigger upgrade as part of the track-calorimeter correlator project for the High-Luminosity LHC upgrade.
