Bangor University

Head of Bangor Business School

Located in one of the most beautiful regions of the UK, between the Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey, Bangor University has occupied a central role in the educational provision of the area since its foundation in 1884. With approximately 11,000 students and 2,000 staff, the university offers a wide range of academic provision grouped in three Colleges. We are a unique institution, the most Welsh in language and attitude, but also, arguably, the most international in outlook and ambition.

Based in the College of Arts, Humanities and Business, the Business School is well established and teaches a wide portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, it also has extensive business networks and works collaboratively with a wide range of professional bodies and TNE partners in countries including China, Singapore and Bahrain. Despite the sector challenges, there are significant opportunities for our new Head to make a very positive contribution to the University as we roll out a new strategic vision. The post will be focussed on change management and growth and have a high profile internally and externally as you lead on developing and raising the Business School’s academic offer and external profile.

Comfortable in an ambassadorial role you will be an assured, persuasive and confident communicator, someone who seeks innovative solutions, with imagination and creativity, inspiring trust and respect across the institution and with our partners. You will have a track record of academic achievement in teaching and research in a relevant discipline to be credible at professorial level and combine this with evidence of effective leadership and change management, particularly in relation to growth and academic redesign.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide transformational leadership in an established and respected Business School, with a brief to realign and reposition our research and teaching portfolios through the development of a new strategy. For more information on this outstanding opportunity and how you can take our Business School to the next level of impact and influence, please visit www.andersonquigley.com/bangor-business.

Closing date: Midday, Wednesday 7 October 2020
