Description
The Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board certified/eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is required. Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is strongly preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, fellows and oncology providers. The successful candidate will have clinical and teaching experience in the area of palliative care. The position includes extensive educational opportunities in palliative care. Academic Clinicians must participate in a minimum of 100 credit per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service.

Clinical responsibilities may include care of palliative care patients with a cancer diagnosis in the outpatient clinic. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with each patient's oncology team to develop a comprehensive plan of care. Participation in clinical trials is an important role in this position.

Selected candidates will have opportunities to develop innovative practices to support the cancer service line such as tele-medicine and e-consults.
