The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of molecular biology, working with cancer cell and mouse models. Experience working with models of ovarian cancer and with bioinformatics is preferred. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities may include developing primary cell cultures, resistant cell lines, 3D culture modeling, drug resistant animal models in ovarian cancer. Performing basic molecular and cellular biology techniques such as MTTs, colony forming assays, western blotting, DNA and RNA sequencing, transfections, CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing, and real-time PCR.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work with other researchers in the Ovarian Cancer Research Center.
