UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA
Location
Pennsylvania (US)
Closing date

Description
The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of caring for patients with solid organ transplantation or oncologic disease, particularly the treatment and prevention of infections of patients in these complex populations. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certified/eligible in infectious diseases is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include precepting and mentoring ID fellows, mentoring of Masters level clinical research trainees and course instruction.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient attending on the ID consult service with a primary focus on non-HIV immunosuppressed host (e.g., transplant, oncology). This position may also require clinical responsibilities on the outpatient ID clinic at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine (PCAM).

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing a research focus on infectious diseases in an immunocompromised (non-HIV) patient population (e.g., transplant, oncology). Development of a research focus on diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infections in these populations will build on an extensive clinical ID program in these areas and be highly complementary to the research activities of investigators in other disciplines. Numerous opportunities to collaborate with current research faculty exist.

Advanced training in epidemiologic/clinical research methods is highly desirable as is past or current research funding.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
