The Department of Neuroscience and the Mahoney Institute for Neurosciences (MINS) at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of basic neuroscience. Special attention will be given to those applying innovative molecular approaches. Applicants in mid-career with established records of scholarly activity and/or research programs are encouraged to apply.
Teaching responsibilities may include contributing to the educational mission of the University of Pennsylvania, by training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and through participation in graduate and medical student teaching.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include maintaining a successful, nationally recognized extramurally supported research program.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Highly competitive lab space and start-up funds are available for the successful candidate. The Department of Neuroscience is located within a vibrant environment on the Penn campus. MINS includes more than 100 labs, spanning the breadth of the neurosciences, brought together to foster collaborative and multi-disciplinary approaches to advance our understanding of the brain.
