The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Clinical Psychology with a focus on Behavioral Sleep Medicine. The final candidate will have to be credentialed at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center in addition to the standard faculty appointment procedures. 

Teaching responsibilities may include co-leading a behavioral sleep medicine training program for clinical psychology trainees.

Clinical responsibilities may include conducting clinical assessments and providing therapy in the context of research studies.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a program of research focused on the intersection of sleep, circadian rhythms, and mood disorders. Specifically, the candidate’s role, in terms of research, would be to contribute to currently funded research projects as a co-investigator. The candidate would also assist in developing new grant proposals at the intersection of sleep and mood disorders.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. PA Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist is required.

This recruitment would augment the ongoing work of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program by bringing together research on mood disorders and sleep.
