Vice Chief for Clinical Affairs, Associate or Full Professor

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Human Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of strong leadership skills and experience with clinical program management.

Teaching responsibilities may include participation in the educational mission of the Division, including clinical education of medical students, residents and especially Clinical Genetics fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include the administration of the clinical services of the Division, seeing patients, which includes providing outpatient and inpatient consultative services.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical investigation with a track record of research productivity and scholarship, directing clinical operations and continuing their individual clinical research program in the Genetics division.

Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Candidates must be certified in Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

The Vice Chief for Clinical Affairs will be responsible for guiding the clinical programs in the Division. The ideal candidate will be an established clinician and emerging leader in clinical genetics with expertise in an area of research and/or program development. He/She will be committed to optimizing the integration of the clinical programs in genetics across the division.

Candidates should have served in a program leadership role within a school of medicine. This is a unique role for an academic pediatrician who is skilled at managing in an academic clinical enterprise, who has a strong vision for growth and who appreciates the importance of collegial decision-making in an interdisciplinary structure.
