Description
The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of anxiety-related disorders, with special focus on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Candidates with expertise in the intersection of anxiety-related disorders and suicide risk are preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching psychiatry residents, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, medical students, research assistants and community clinicians about the etiology, assessment, and treatment of anxiety-related disorders.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing direct clinical service to patients at the CTSA, and therefore the ideal candidate will have expertise in CBT for anxiety related disorders, in particular, exposure and response prevention (ExRP) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE). The ideal candidate will provide supervision and consultation to community clinicians in delivering evidence-based practices for anxiety to fidelity.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include writing grant applications, scientific manuscripts, and other scholarly contributions. The selected candidate will be expected to secure extramural grant funding and to mentor postdoctoral fellows and other colleagues in the preparation of grant applications. The selected candidate will be expected to spend most of their time in research-related activities.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Candidate must be a licensed clinical psychologist, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology is preferred.
