Assistant Professor - Immunometabolism and Tumor Immunity
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Immunometabolism and Tumor Immunity.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and mentoring of graduate and medical students is an integral component of this position as well as sufficient postdoctoral or fellowship experience to demonstrate accomplishments, independence and outstanding promise.
Clinical responsibilities may include understanding how metabolic pathway choice affects lymphocyte differentiation into specific effector subsets, and how the immune system is affected by the altered metabolic landscape of the tumor microenvironment in which the nutrient/metabolite pools and environmental conditions (such as hypoxia and acidosis) have been dramatically altered by the metabolic state of the tumor.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing and maintaining an independent, extramurally funded research program.
Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree.
The position is affiliated with the Division of Transplant Immunology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), immediately adjacent to Penn.
