Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Microbiology (Ref.: 502067), to commence in December 2020 for two years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in microbiology, microbial bioinformatics or a related discipline.  We are looking for applicants with previous training and/or work experience in bioinformatics analysis of microbial genomes and/or Oxford nanopore technology.  Applicants with publications in antimicrobial resistance genomics or metagenomics research would have an advantage.  The appointee will write competitive grant proposals and apply for funding; exercise existing research skills and explore new options; and mentor junior research staff members.  The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. P. L. Ho. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
