Research Assistant Professor in Biomedical Science / Medical Laboratory Science (Ref. 20083105)
The Department of Health Technology and Informatics is comprised of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography – two well-established healthcare disciplines whose tertiary education has a long history of over 40 years in Hong Kong. The unique combination of these two healthcare disciplines in one department enables us to share expertise, complement each other and excel in both academic programmes and research. The appointee will be required to:
(a) conduct research as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator;
(b) provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level;
(c) contribute to departmental service; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.
(a) have a doctoral degree in a related discipline;
(b) have demonstrated promise of a high level of creative ability in research and teaching in some subdivisions of his/her field;
(c) have expertise and experience in bioinformatics and genomics, with knowledge of molecular diagnostics being an advantage;
(d) be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills; and
(e) be highly proficient in written and spoken English.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Appointment will only be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
