Australian Catholic University (ACU) is a young and vibrant university ranked in the top two per cent of universities worldwide and in the top 10 Catholic universities. Having seen rapid growth over recent years, ACU has eight campuses around Australia - with a new campus opening in Blacktown in Western Sydney in 2021 - and a campus in Rome. With the release of the Strategic Plan 2020-2023 “impact through empathy”, and the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor& President - Professor Zlatko Skrbis - ACU is pursuing an exciting new chapter in its growth and development.

The Provost is a key member of the executive team and provides strategic and transformative leadership of academic activities across the University to achieve strategic objectives and enhance the university’s reputation and impact. The portfolio includes the faculties, implementation of ACU’s education strategy and digital agenda, and enhancement of the nexus between research, education and industry collaboration. Other key focus areas include innovation, inclusion, diversification and sustainability. The Provost will lead with impact and integrity consistent with the university’s Catholic mission and will work closely with the Vice-Chancellor and President.

Applications are encouraged from academics with exceptional leadership, managementand transformative change experience; demonstrated credentials in policy development and strategic planning; and an understanding of the demands of managing and advancing a contemporary university in a rapidly evolving environment.Candidates will need proven scholarly credentials including an internationally recognised record of achievement; professional standing and a sound reputation in one’s own academic discipline; and a comprehensive understanding of government, industry and community relationships.
