DIRECTOR OF PARTNERSHIPS, MIT Sandbox Innovation Program (temporary, part-time, 75%), to lead the expansion of the MIT Sandbox innovation and entrepreneurship model globally and assist the executive director in creating collaborations with universities across the globe.  Will serve as a senior member of the leadership team and work closely with the executive director to strengthen program offerings for MIT students looking to innovate in markets outside the U.S. and to help other universities establish similar programs; shape and develop strategy that creates and fosters partnerships between MIT Sandbox and other educational institutions; develop strategies and long-range plans to expand the Sandbox educational, innovation, and entrepreneurship infrastructure to increase the scope and breadth of the program; and support Sandbox’s objectives and MIT’s mission to have a global impact by sharing its know-how and creating connections between MIT and key organizations. 

Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
 bachelor's degree in a related field; at least five years of industry experience and at least three years in business-to-business technical sales, business development, technology transfer, marketing, or consulting; knowledge of foreign cultures and languages and experience doing business globally; experience interacting with students through teaching, research, and outreach; industrial experience including a combination of management and technical involvement in the business; start-up experience that involved the launch, fund-raising, governance, management, IP strategy, and technical contributions to the business; demonstrated project management skills including experience with workflow and budgets and managing groups and projects across multiple geographic locations; ability to build programs and create the infrastructure and partnerships necessary to support them; and public speaking ability and proficiency making oral and written presentations to large and small groups.  Job #18914-11

Must be able to work flexible hours and travel once or twice per month. 

This a two-year term position that will be reviewed yearly.
