Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Life Course Epidemiology in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 501994), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, epidemiology, genetics, or other relevant disciplines. A good track record of publications would be an advantage but not essential. Preference will be given to those with research experience in at least one of the following areas: the use of machine learning to derive trajectories; Mendelian randomization; nutritional epidemiology; and the role of faecal microbiome in physical and mental health.
The appointee will participate in the “Children of 1997” birth cohort, one of the flagship cohorts of the School of Public Health. He/She will make use of the birth cohort (n=3,500) to address important global health questions related to early determinants of physical and mental health. He/She will also write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports; and assist in general administrative, operational and other duties as assigned. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Dr. Ryan Au Yeung at ayslryan@hku.hk.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
The University only accepts online application for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V. Review of applications will start on September 15, 2020 and continue until December 31, 2020, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
