Applications are invited for a temporary post within UCD Chang'an Dublin International College of Transportation (CDIC).

The Deputy Provost CDIC will be the key UCD role for the programme delivery, educational strategy, quality assurance and academic administration for the joint venture with CHD. The Deputy Provost CDIC will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day delivery and quality of academic programmes and will be accountable to the Provost for academic matters pertaining to all aspects of UCD degrees. The Deputy Provost CDIC will work in collaboration with the CHD Vice-Principal (Student Affairs) on a day-to-day basis to ensure the effective delivery, assessment and reporting of the academic programmes.

The Deputy Provost will have an affiliation to one of the UCD constituent Schools of CDIC - UCD School of Civil Engineering, UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, UCD School of Architecture Planning & Environmental Policy - through which they will manage their research and teaching activities. Given the nature of the role the postholder will spend up to 180 days in Xi'an including the bulk of one Semester to facilitate a teaching contribution to one or more of the programmes.

Salary: €69,865 - €97,595 per annum [* Aligned to the 95 Associate Professor Salary Scale].
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with Department of Finance guidelines.

  • Furthermore, to reflect the high level of responsibility associated with the role, the successful applicant will be appointed on the Associate Professor pay scale for the duration for the appointment.
