Dr. Liu Quan's laboratory in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a qualified person for a Research Fellow position in the field of biophotonics (biomedical optics).

This laboratory focuses on the development of novel biomedical optics/biophotonics technology for medical diagnostics. For more information about the lab, please visit http://www.ntu.edu.sg/home/quanliu/.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involve in the development of optical imaging and spectroscopy for cancer diagnosis and biological science research
  • Conduct scientific research
  • Perform necessary lab maintenance

Job Requirement:

  • Have PhD degree in an optics related field
  • Have at least 5-year hand-on experience in setting up optical instrumentation, handling optics and opto-electronic components
  • Have at least 1-year experience using ray tracing software such as Zemax

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
