The School of Chemistry at the University of Lincoln has quickly established a strong position by developing an ambitious research agenda alongside its Employer-Engaged STEM taught programmes. We are seeking to substantially enhance our position across key strategic areas of Chemistry and Forensic Science, and further our track record in the application of chemistry in research and innovation.  Substantial investment has been realised in research and teaching facilities with specialist support infrastructure to create a dynamic and modern working environment for the School. Research in the School promotes inter-disciplinarity and aligns to three principal themes: advanced materials (e.g. electronic and optical materials, supramolecular and reticular materials, solid state materials and catalysis), innovative chemical methodologies (e.g. organic synthesis, analytical and forensic chemistry, formulation science) and the chemistry-bioscience interface (e.g. drug discovery and development, forensic bioanalysis and toxicology) and we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to significantly enhance one or more of these themes.

Associate Professor in Chemistry
We are seeking applicants with outstanding research track record and the potential to lead strategic contribution to all aspects of the Schools’ activities especially in research and its administration.  Candidates will be able to demonstrate significant funding track record and research group leadership, an ability to develop taught programmes in specialist areas and have an enthusiasm for innovation in the chemical sciences.

An ability to provide a broad contribution to the School's accredited programmes across chemistry and forensic science will be an advantage.  A commitment to working within multidisciplinary teams and an enthusiasm for developing research-integrated teaching will be strong attributes in the successful candidate.

We encourage applications from under-represented groups in science. The School of Chemistry is an Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and the University of Lincoln is an equal-opportunities employer and an Athena SWAN Bronze Institution. The University of Lincoln was rated Gold in the recent Teaching Excellence Framework.

We are an equal opportunities employer, celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from all sections of the community and we are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of background or experience.
