The Professional Systems Team in Information Technology at City, University of London is recruiting a SAP HR GB Payroll Technical Analyst to join a team that provides support for City's professional systems including, SAP management, identity management and integration tools. The successful candidate will be seeking to build their business knowledge and to further develop technical aptitude and business analysis competencies in a support environment. The SAP HR GB Payroll Technical Analyst will be joining City at an exciting time of change management and will work as part of a great team. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will use their SAP specialist knowledge and expertise to act as the technical analyst in the team and will work in partnership with colleagues in Human Resources and Payroll to ensure that their processes and procedures are understood in order to quickly and effectively provide the team with SAP HR GB Payroll support. They will also have responsibility for the definition and resolution of support issues and requests for SAP HR GB Payroll. In addition, there will be involvement in the full lifecycle (requirements, development, testing and documentation) of projects, enhancements and the annual patching round. Other key responsibilities will include working with third parties and internal teams to ensure resolution of issues and/or delivery of new requirements, along with defining, running and maintaining test suites or working with third parties to do the same.

Person Specification

To be successful in the role you will have significant demonstrable experience as a SAP HR GB Payroll specialist and have experience of supporting end users and projects in an established SAP implementation. Significant experience in SAP Time Management with Time evaluation is also essential along with knowledge of ABAP programming or Basis skills.

Alongside the technical experience, the successful candidate will have strong analytical skills including the ability to assess problems, define business requirements and identify, design and deploy solutions.

They will work with business users to understand and document requirements, and be able to communicate with technical and non-technical users. Good organization and time management skills are essential along with the ability to work independently.

The successful candidate will also have good interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience in communicating with customers alongside a strong commitment to customer service. The ability to engage with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization is essential.
