Job Details

Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software module in C/C++ or Python to access and extract data reading from multiple IMU sensors simultaneously
  • Develop and implement denoising algorithm, machine learning methods to model IMU data and transmission of IMU data to commercial cloud for advanced analytics as required by the projects
  • Develop image processing and object recognition modules for RGB-D camera to enable scene recognition
  • Apply the developed module for the CAPE project (described in Section 4) and to support a lower-limb exoskeleton project
  • Perform software testing and system integration
  • Analyze and evaluate codes for further enhancement
  • Assist in duties assigned by the Reporting Officer

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in software development and testing
  • Familiar with C / C++, C# and Python programming languages
  • Familiar with the use of IMU sensors for daily activity monitoring
  • Experience in system integration and conducting deployment trial
  • A good team player, keen learner, and a self-driven individual
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
