School of Materials Science and Engineering invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Fellow will work on an exciting interdisciplinary project in the area of “Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation (LLPS) involving research teams in the Schools of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) and Biological Sciences (SBS) at NTU that have a strong international recognition in the areas of molecular biomimetics, cell biologists, biophysics, and plant biochemistry.

This includes:

  • Conduct computational work related to LLPS using all atomic simulation, Molecular Dynamics (MD) and coarse-grain simulations
  • Collaborate with cell biologists, biochemists, structure biologists and materials scientists within the frame of a large research program devoted to LLPS
  • Mentor PhD students conducting computational simulations in their thesis

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Structural Biology, Protein Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related fields
  • Proficient with modern tools of coarse grain modelling, all atom, and MD simulations
  • At least 1 to 2 years of post-doctoral experience
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
