We are seeking an experienced postdoctoral researcher in the research project Chronologicum Hiber-nicum - A Probabilistic Chronological Framework for Dating Early Irish Language Developments and Literature (ChronHib), funded by a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council and led by Professor David Stifter. ChronHib aims at making progress in establishing a finely-tuned chronology of Early Irish language developments and literature, by closely studying and mapping linguistic change and variation in the literature from the period. We expect to make a significant contribution to the description and the understanding of the development of the Early Irish language. Work is carried out primarily within the discipline of historical linguistics with a strong emphasis on digital humanities, but other aspects of linguistics such as syntactic theory, sociolinguistics, and the philology of Early Irish texts play a role as well.
Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale: €45,041 per annum pro rata
Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.
*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
