Launching in January 2021, Better Space is a new co-working space developed in partnership with Islington Council to support local businesses, with a focus on Social Enterprises. Once completed, Better Space will provide up to 80 desks for startups and social entrepreneurs in addition to hosting a range of programmes and events to enable business to scale and grow. Better Space will also work closely with Islington to provide opportunities for the local community to find employment and upskill.


Working with the Head of Entrepreneurship, The Operations Manager is tasked with leading and overseeing all operations, programmes and strategy that supports the Better Space community. This includes hosting bespoke events and specialist initiatives helping to further support local businesses and underrepresented groups in entrepreneurship including female and BAME founders. 

The Operations manager will lead a team of three and be responsible for generating income which will be fed back into developing the programmes and initiatives at Better Space. 

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of startup incubation as well as a good working knowledge of operations management pertaining to office space and entrepreneurial programme delivery. The preferred candidate will have experience in commercial space management, preferably in a co-working environment. The candidate will also have a good background in business development and generating income through the sale of products and services including the development of programmes to support entrepreneurs i.e. mentoring, demo days
