One Project Officer position is currently available in the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, NTU.

We have developed at the Centre for Disruptive Photonics technologies (CDPT), NTU a cold atom experimental platform suitable for this application. Together with an experienced research fellow, the project officer will develop the optical system for the superoscillatory field, before transferring the cold gas in the trap. Finally, characterisation of the performance of the superoscillatory trap will be carry on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of the optical experimental systems
  • Development of a software to control the superoscillatory field pattern
  • Development and characterization of an optical system for the superoscillatory field
  • Measurement of a single atom response (fluorescence count) in the trap

Project assignment may change accordingly after discussion.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with a good GPA from a reputable University
  • Willing to learn and hardworking

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
