Job Details

NTU Main Campus, Singapore

The School of Biological Sciences would like to recruit enthusiastic and creative scientists/researchers to develop an immuno-based assay/diagnostic kit for early detection of subclinical cardiovascular disease (CVD).

CVD is the leading cause of death globally, and contributes to 1 out of every 3 deaths in Singapore. Moreover, more than half of patients suffering an acute clinical event such as heart attack or stroke don’t have any traditional risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or diabetes. We recently discovered a set of new pathogenic plasma biomarkers for accurate detection of subclinical CVD. A diagnostic/screening kit based on the biomarker will enable early detection of asymptomatic patients in the general population at risk of CVD for intensive medical management for primary prevention. This diagnostic kit will radically change the mortality and morbidity of CVD, reduce healthcare and socioeconomic burden and also increase the healthspan in human. You are invited to join us to develop this disruptive method to reduce risk of CVD and to increase healthspan in mankind.

You are expected to supervise junior researchers including PhD and undergraduate attachment students’ wet-labs experiments.

Requirements

  • Ph.D in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, biomedical sciences (or related fields).
  • Experience with protein chemistry and immune-assay will be an advantage.
  • Highly motivated and responsible candidate.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.

We regret only shortlisted will be notified.
