Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics in the Dr. Li Dak-Sum Research Centre, HKU-Karolinska Institutet Collaboration in Regenerative Medicine (Ref.: 501717), to commence as soon as possible for two years.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics or a related discipline, with hands-on experience in bulk/single cell RNA sequencing data analysis. Working knowledge of programming language and statistical software packages is a must. Experience in primary cell culture, organoid culture, cell sorting and downstream processing for single cell RNA sequencing, and a good publication record would be advantages.  Applicants should also possess fluency in English, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently.

The appointee will work in a multidisciplinary team on projects related to congenital disorders including Hirschsprung’s disease, biliary atresia and congenital pulmonary airway malformation affecting newborns, with an aim to provide insights into the pathophysiology and explore new therapeutic avenues to treat or ameliorate these disorders. He/She will culture and prepare organoid/single cell for RNA sequencing and data analysis, coordinate the analysis with collaborators, write reports and scientific publications, and supervise postgraduate students.
