The Graphic Designer role is within the Brand Marketing team, part of the Marketing & External Relations department. The department drives the development of City’s external profile and reputation and supports the objectives set out in City’s Strategic Plan.

Reporting to the Design Lead, the Graphic Designer supports the creation and production of a wide range of marketing initiatives to help promote City to external and internal audiences.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Design Lead, the Graphic Designer independently develops a range of communications materials from point of conception to print-preparation for both Schools and Professional Services. This includes a range of on and offline materials, including publications and digital campaigns.

The Graphic Designer acts as brand guardian, ensuring all core marketing and communications collateral adheres strictly to the brand guidelines and is of a high standard, reflecting City’s ongoing commitment to excellence and professionalism.

The role delivers on core marketing objectives and improves the delivery of the Marketing and Communication strategy, in line with the Strategic Plan for the Vision and Strategy 2026.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. They will have a design qualification and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative suite, including After Effects. They will be highly creative and experienced in designing for print, digital and web.

Experience of working within a professional design environment is essential, along with the ability to meet the objectives of a creative brief. A sound knowledge of design best practices is required.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. They will be proactive and able to work independently.

Experience creating HTML5 ads would be desirable.
