We are the Cybersecurity Team of Masaryk University CSIRT-MU (TwitterLinkedin). We are the first certified cybersecurity team in the Czech Republic, and we protect the cyberspace of Masaryk University. Masaryk University is a modern educational institution for which secure cyberspace is necessary. We make sure it is. To achieve this goal, we provide services such as incident handling and reporting, issue information and warnings, execute penetrations testing, and educate the people in the cybersecurity. For an H2020 project SAPPAN, we search a passionate data scientist.

You will: 

  • extract-transform-load data from network monitoring tools 
  • use statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques to model complex problems, find opportunities, discover solutions in the area of cybersecurity 
  • handling both parts of the Research & Development process, including clean, rigorous implementations of devised models 
  • own your projects and use this autonomy to find creative and innovative ways of solving problems of the cybersecurity operators and delivering suitable solutions 
  • be excited to “go where no man has gone before” 

You should have:

  • demonstrable 2-3 years of experience as a data scientist, data analyst, or similar
  • expert knowledge with advanced data analytics (e.g., data classification, big data processing, clustering, predictive modeling)
  • Python proficiency in data science-related tools (panda, scikit-learn, tensorflow, jupyter notebooks)
  • proficiency in the development, validation, implementation, and production launch of statistical algorithms and models (docker)
  • experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 
  • Master or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science
  • excellent spoken and written English (at least C1 level)
  • you should be able to plan your work, present results in writing and oral presentations, to have attention to detail, to be proactive and self-motivated

Plus is:
