Position Summary:

The Professor of Nursing Education (continuing position) will provide leadership in nursing education and as the Academic Lead (fixed-term role for 3 years) of the nursing disciplines. They will also be responsible for building capacity in nursing education through a focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning as well as building translational research capacity (through educational innovations) in conjunction with researchers in the Caring Futures Institute. Drawing on significant capacity amongst existing staff, particularly teaching specialist staff in nursing, the Professor will provide mentoring and opportunity to strengthen the scholarship of teaching and learning, develop innovative teaching methodologies and curricula, achieve performance expectations, and strengthen our reputation as a world class leader in nursing education.

The incumbent will be required to provide leadership in strengthening existing partnerships and forming new partnerships with external stakeholders that have potential for growth or provide improved teaching, learning, and/or scholarly outcomes that align with the strategic direction of the College, the Caring Futures Institute, and the University. The incumbent, as Academic Lead, will prioritise, coordinate, monitor workflow, and provide informal day-to-day feedback to academic staff and casual academic teaching staff according to the University's policies, practices, and standards.
