Job Details
A Research Fellow position is now available in the School of Biological Science (SBS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. The project is part of a newly established National Research Foundation (NRF)-funded Competitive Research Program (CRP).
Job Description
Work on a novel transgenesis platform for microalgae based on our propriety genome editing tool. Besides establishing the platform in marine microalgae, additional major aims of the project are (i) to utilize the microbial Rubisco sequence space towards enhanced CO2 assimilation and (ii) the production of oral fish vaccines in microalgae. The work involves algal culturing, extensive molecular biology (vector construction), flow cytometry, genome editing analysis, protein biochemistry and biochemical assays.
Job Requirements
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field
- Proven work experience in Molecular and Cell Biology in general and algal biology and mammalian cell culture techniques in particular

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
