A Senior Research Fellow position is available in the Laboratory of Professor Yoon Ho Sup at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University.

Job Description

The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for studying molecular mechanism of small molecule leads for nuclear receptors involved in Parkinson’s disease. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with technical calibre in crystallography and structure-based drug discovery in receptor biology field. This position will involve biochemical, biophysical and x-ray crystallographic experiments.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in the field of structural biology and biochemistry with at least 5 years of relevant post-doctoral experience
  • Candidate with background in nuclear receptors-mediated transcriptional regulation and X-ray crystallography is preferred
  • Good publication record in top structural biology and chemical biology journals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in lab management is a plus

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
