Applications are invited for appointment as Research Associate/Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 501700), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

For the post of Research Associate, applicants should possess an M.Phil. degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or other relevant disciplines.  For the post of Research Assistant I/II, applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or other relevant disciplines and at least 1 year’s research experience.  They should have good knowledge of, and technical skills in organic synthesis and spectroscopic analysis.  They should also have good communication skills in English and Chinese, and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The appointees will participate in a multidisciplinary research, which is a 5-year large-scale research supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission, to develop a big data/machine learning/scientific computing platform for discovery of novel photoluminescent materials and their applications in OLED industry.  The project aims to transfer the success of research in luminescent materials and OLED to industrial application.  Working off-campus may be required.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
