The School of Water, Energy and Environment leads in delivering Cranfield’s Mission within Water, Energy and Power, and Environment and Agrifood. The School is committed to leading in its areas of expertise through investing in world class staff and facilities over the long term.
Within our Water for Food community of practice, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver on a UKRI GCRF funded project entitled ‘Supporting transformative adaptation and building equitable resilience to drought for sustainable development’. The project, based on case studies in Kenya and South Africa, seeks to address the fundamental question ‘how do we manage systemic risk in a way that enhances social equity and builds resilience at multiple scales? You will be responsible for collating and synthesising hydrological data and scientific and grey literature relating to four case-study catchments and working with collaborators to develop indicators of resilience that are aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
You will have a PhD (obtained or near completion) in Geography, Environmental Science, Social Science or a related discipline and have experience of management research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. With excellent communication skills, you will have expertise in social network analysis.
