Contract: Indefinite (contingent on funding)

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent Java programmer with substantial experience with software development.  You will join an interdisciplinary team of internationally renowned researchers within the Centre for Corpus Approaches to Social Sciences. You will be offered excellent career progression opportunities.

You will use Java to undertake the development of #LancsBox (http://corpora.lancs.ac.uk/lancsbox), a highly innovative software package for the analysis and visualisation of language. To date, #LancsBox has been used by more than 18,000 researchers, students and teachers around the world. Your research and development will build upon work already undertaken in the CASS research Centre.

You will support the Centre’s research programme with a focus on corpus construction, and contribute expertise in programming and data processing for corpus linguistics.

You will participate in engagement/dissemination activities, including the corpus linguistics MOOC (https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/corpus-linguistics).

You will join us on an indefinite contract from 1 October 2020, however, the role remains contingent on external funding which, at this time is due to come to an end on 31 March 2023.
