Responsibilities
The Department is seeking to appoint an outstanding Psychology Technician and Learning Support Officer.
The appointed candidate will provide technical support for staff and students in the Department of Psychology, maintain the specialist equipment and spaces within the department, and assist staff and students with specialist software for learning, teaching and research both on campus and online. The appointed candidate will also support and deputise for the Psychology Chief Technician when required.
Person Specification
The appointed candidate will have significant experience of providing technical support in a large, diverse educational environment. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, the ideal candidate will also have a relevant post grad or professional qualification. They will have an understanding of the challenges and business needs of universities and thrive in a complex and demanding environment. Outstanding problem solving and communication skills are required as well as a flexible approach to work and the ability to competently program in at least 2 of the following Net, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP or Matlab. With knowledge of both Windows and Apple Mac operating systems, the appointed candidate will be confident to provide expert support and advice to colleagues and students.
