The Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Cinema & Media Studies are accepting applications for a part-time, benefits-eligible, Lecturer 2 position in the Department of Cinema & Media Studies, Program in Media Arts & Design. This is a one-year, renewable, position beginning on September 1, 2020. The Lecturer 2 will teach four courses over three quarters of the academic year, including introductory, required, and/or elective courses. In particular, we seek studio-oriented courses in areas that include game design, computational and software art, virtual reality production, augmented reality development, and networked media creation. The course load may also include the Capstone Colloquium that oversees student preparation of a portfolio of digital media artworks or writing.
Minimum qualifications are a MA/MFA or Ph.D. or equivalents, and at least one year of experience teaching at the university or post-secondary level. We welcome applicants who are able to teach classes in a variety of media art technologies, and seek applicants whose intellectual and creative interests will lead to building collaborative conversations within the context of the intense and rigorous intellectual culture of the University.

Responsibilities will include preparing lecture- and/or workshop-style classes, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparation and grading of assignments and testing materials.
