At TU Dresden, Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies, the Institute of Romance Studies invites applications for the

Chair (W3) of Romance Linguistics

to be filled at the earliest possible date.

We welcome your application if you would like to represent the subject area of Romance linguistics (French/Italian) in research and teaching in both synchronic and diachronic perspective. You will have the opportunity to lead and implement research projects, perform teaching tasks at the Institute of Romance Studies, the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (including classes in French and Italian), participate in academic selfadministration as well as to (cooperatively) lead the Centre for Italian Studies. We assume your active cooperation in research in both the Emerging Field „Culture and Societal Change“ and joint projects of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Reference to the research interests of the CRC 1285 'Invectivity. Constellations and Dynamics of Disparagement' is desirable.

We wish for an internationally proven academic with an excellent publication record, global networks, the ability to secure third-party funding and proven interests in interdisciplinary cooperation and connectivity of cultural science issues. We welcome applications with a strong profile in linguistics and research interests in two of the following areas:

  • contact linguistics
  • digital linguistics
  • corpus linguistics
  • discourse linguistics
  • linguistics of conversation

Applications must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
