Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will provide comprehensive ophthalmology care, including cataract surgery and glaucoma management. This may include offsite locations. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants who have experience with teaching resident cataract surgery.  Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. 

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in Ophthalmology, 4) have completed an ACGME-approved ophthalmology residency or its equivalent, and 5) have completed a glaucoma fellowship or an anterior segment fellowship with significant glaucoma exposure, or demonstrate comparable clinical experience in comprehensive ophthalmology.
