Job Description Summary

The primary function is to provide statistical support to faculty and staff researchers in the Center for Studies of Addiction. Incumbent will perform data cleaning, statistical analyses, assist with write-ups and preparation of tables and graphs for presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals. As part of the data cleaning and data analysis responsibilities, s/he will use R and other statistical packages to create analytic data sets, and provide comments within the programs to allow other workers to reproduce their work. Occasionally, s/he will give a seminar on the methods used to the Center researchers and staff.

Occasionally, s/he will give a seminar on the methods used to the Centre researchers and staff. S/he will be closely supervised by senior statistician.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's Degree and 0-1 year experience. Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics or biostatistics and one year of experience doing statistical analysis in a research environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Knowledge of statistical methods, research methodology, and information systems is required. Experience with R and other statistical packages is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to manage time effectively and to meet deadlines is required. Must be flexible and willing to adjust priorities to meet occasional changing deadlines with tight time frames. Evenings and weekends are required. Position contingent upon continued funding.
