Job Title: Senior Legal Advisor (Maternity Cover)

Hours: 36 hours per week 
Annual Leave: 30 days
Term: Fixed-term

The Legal and Governance team at St Mary’s provides legal advice throughout the University to all of its departments, institutes, and faculties. The advice it provides covers a wide range of matters including intellectual property, commercial contracts, partnerships, property, and litigation.

The University is looking for a Senior Legal Advisor who is a qualified barrister or solicitor to be engaged on a one-year contract as maternity cover. 

The successful applicant will have: 

  • Strong analytical and legal problem solving skills. 
  • An understanding of legal issues within a higher education environment. 
  • Ability to research unfamiliar or new legal areas quickly and interpret and apply the law in context and pragmatically. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
