Li-San Wang's lab and the Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center are hiring a Senior Research Investigator (SRI) to contribute to neurodegeneration bioinformatics, genetics, and genomics research. The SRI will be responsible for developing workflows to support the processing, aggregation and analysis of our data; developing visualization and annotation tools for genetics research, functional genomics research, and genome-wide association studies (GWAS); and analyzing GWAS and sequencing data to identify genetic risks and biological pathways of Alzheimer's Disease-Related Dementias (ADRD) using data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence algorithms.
PhD and a combined 5 years of experience in the field of molecular biology, bioinformatics genetics/genomics, health economics, public health, or related fields required. Interdisciplinary knowledge in human genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics required. Knowledge and track record in neurodegenerative disorder research optional and strongly preferred. The successful candidate must thrive in a team environment, have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with standard methods of big data integration, management and analyses
