TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), to work at the interface of computational and experimental work seeking to dissect the mechanisms underlying human disease genetics, experimentally validate and refine biological hypotheses, and generate new datasets for computational analysis. Applications include several human diseases, specifically neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric, immune, and cancer. Will carry out molecular assays including chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP-seq), assay of transposase accessible chromatin (ATAC-seq), RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), and single-cell profiling (scRNA-seq and scATAC-seq). Will perform gene knockdowns and knockouts and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing and be responsible for implementing high-level research objectives, applying advanced research practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Will work closely with project coordinator, research scientists, and other researchers to plan project execution, prioritize tasks, and achieve agreed-upon goals; and interact with research scientists, postdocs, and other technical associates within the Kellis lab and collaborator labs to plan out research and interpret results.
