Job Description

The Director of Outreach, Education and Research will oversee all outreach initiatives, locally and nationally. Responsibilities include the implementation of new outreach opportunities, projects and programs in line with the educational mission of the Perelman School of Medicine, and continued evaluation of Project BioEYES program, Project DrosoPHILA, the Penn Academy for Skin Health, the Penn Academy for Reproductive Sciences, and the IRM summer internship. This also includes supervising full time staff members, part-time staff, graduate student volunteers and interns, high school interns, and Penn volunteers for the different supported programs. The Director will also promote, through the PSOM, outreach and educational activities across campus including: training of students at all levels; developing and facilitating cross-campus initiatives; and providing educational/training opportunities. The Director will collaborate with outside stakeholders, such as the School District of Philadelphia and other education and research institutions, developing MOUs, contracts, and grant proposals. The Director will also work closely with PSOM leadership and administration to align outreach goals to various initiatives, manage finances, and promote the work being done under his/her direction. Lastly, this position will be responsible for identifying and soliciting opportunities for funding, as appropriate. This position is contingent upon continued funding.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ph.D. preferred.
