A Research Fellow position is currently available in Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute - Residues and Resource Reclamation Centre (NEWRI-R3C).

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in the development, characterization and application of carbon-based materials from wastes
  • Focus mainly on application of various thermochemical processes to obtain new carbon-based materials from wastes, followed by detailed electrochemical characterization and application of the materials for the identified use
  • Assist in laboratory supervision of Ph.D. and undergraduate students
  • Disseminate results and report to the Principal Investigator, Dr Grzegorz Lisak
  • Write scientific articles and grant proposals

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D. in suitable field, e.g. electrochemistry or material chemistry
  • High motivation for research and development
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Experience in carrying out independent research as well as to be able to work in a team
  • Good publication record is considered an advantage
  • Good knowledge of electrochemistry
  • Experience in characterization of novel functional carbon-based materials
  • Experience in the use of electrochemical instrumentation
