The Senior Lecturer in Social Work position provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to join our dynamicand committed team and contribute to the development of theSocial Workprogramand to further raise the academic profile of the School of Health. Our social work courses have a particular emphasis on social work in rural and remote communities, and are designed around an interactive problem-based learning approach to equip students for the challenge of being agents of change in the 21st century.

The role involves teaching students in Social Work programs as well as engaging in research, HDR supervision and other scholarly activities as part of a dynamic team of social work academics. The role also provides opportunity for inter-professional and interdisciplinary teaching and research within the School, the Faculty and wider university. UNE offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Social Work.

Skills & Experience

We are seeking a person who is considering building an academic career within a supportive and collaborative environment and is committed to the development of the profession of Social Work.

As Senior Lecturer you would have a doctoral qualification in a relevant field of study as well as a sound practice experience, a record of scholarly publications; evidence of successful supervision to completion of HDR students; and demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate courses as a member of collaborative educational team.

The ideal candidate would have a commitment to social justice, health and social care sectors and the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and communities.
