The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) is seeking expressions of interest for a part time Research Officer (Level A) position. The position will involve helping to coordinate a national survey of people living with HIV (The HIV Futures Study).

HIV Futures is the largest and longest running national survey of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Australia, utilising a repeated cross sectional and longitudinal design. The Research Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the 10th iteration of this study.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Acquiring ethics approval for the study from relevant ethics bodies
  • Setting up a database for online data collection
  • Working closely with community-based HIV organisations to support recruitment to the study and dissemination of findings
  • Managing online advertising
  • Conducting data analysis using statistical software to inform the study report and publications arising from the study. Call for expressions of interest (internal) EOI, HIV Futures

Skills and experience:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (psychology, sociology, public health, social work or related discipline)
  • Evidence of experience conducting research or evaluation with limited supervision or independently
  • A record of contribution to publications, conference papers, project reports, or technical reports, which provide evidence of research potential
