Job Summary

Research Scientist with expertise in polymer chemistry and materials’ characterization. The successful candidate must be able to follow and execute polymer synthesis protocols, deposit materials on substrates and characterize their electrical response on well-established setups in the laboratory. The candidate should contribute to data collection and analysis for an ongoing research project.

Job Duties

  • Organize and conduct experiments to synthesize and characterize temperature sensitive polymers, following existing protocols
  • Integrate the synthesized polymers in devices for temperature and IR sensing
  • Measure the electrical response of the devices
  • Design and modify experimental techniques and procedures as needed; diagnose processing efficiencies and develop alternative options
  • Conduct literature research; provide scientific information for research reports, journals and/or articles; present research work at group meetings and participate in lab discussions
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. degree
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in materials synthesis and characterization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Familiarity with polymer synthesis, micro-/nano-fabrication and device characterization
