The School of Biological Sciences invites application for the position of Research Fellow.
This position involves research into the biochemistry of a membraneless compartment (the pyrenoid) found in the chloroplast of the marine diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum.
The job scope involves design and execution of experiments, writing of manuscripts and other scientific documentation and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students.
The candidate needs to have a PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline. Experience culturing and genetically manipulating eukaryotic microalgae would be preferable. Additional desirable skills are protein purification and experience with enzymatic assays.
