The Department of Radiography, located in the School of Health Sciences at City, University of London is seeking a Research Assistant to support work on Autism Friendly MRI provisions and educational interventions, working with Dr Christina Malamateniou.
The emphasis of the role will be research to evaluate current practice but also to offer future recommendations to improve clinical practice and update educational curricula. The post holder will be required to conduct the research, communications and external stakeholder management required to support the project.
The Department is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual with a passion for MRI scanning, eager to be part of a team dedicated to making change.
The post holder will be required to conduct a systematic review on the topic but also online surveys of key stakeholders, to understand current practice when performing MRI scanning on patients with autism spectrum disorders.
The post holder should be able to synthesise research findings and compile them into two publications to be submitted by the end of this appointment. The post holder will also be encouraged and funded to submit these for dissemination as oral presentations in relevant conferences.
The appointed candidate will hold a Master’s degree on a topic relevant to MRI and a solid understanding of research methods, patient safety and patient experience priorities during MRI scanning, as well as patient-centred approaches to facilitate MR Imaging. He or she will have considerable clinical experience of MRI scanning and evidence of research dissemination and publications in this field.
